Clay Day workshops are two hour taster sessions held in the school holidays where everyone is welcome to come along and explore their creativity. They are a great way to entertain children during the school holidays, and the perfect thing to do if you’re holidaying in Dorset and want to try something really fun!
After a brief introduction to all the tools and techniques followed by a demonstration explaining the basics of making pots on the wheel, you'll get to turn a ball of clay into your own amazingly shaped objet d’art and then splatter paint all over it!
When you're not on the wheel, you'll be rummaging through our extensive pile of tools, cutters, stamps and paints, crafting another ball of clay into marvellous multicoloured masterpieces at the table- sculptures, creatures, coil pots, Christmas decorations…the possibilities are endless!
You'll then leave your pieces with us to dry, fire, glaze, and fire again and we'll contact you in around 8 weeks time to let you know that they're ready to collect, or if you're visiting us from afar we can post your works of art to your home for an additional fee.
Older children can be left unattended, but younger children may need supervision.
"We all had such a fabulous time, and are looking forward to seeing everything. Emily is already asking when she can come again!"
